Spybot Search and Destroy is one of the best free antispyware solutions. It offers some features that are not rivaled even by commercial antispyware solutions. Spybot Search and destroy is a must have software if you want to stay safe from spyware.
Spyware Search and destroy checks the computer against a comprehensive database of spyware, adware and other malware. The software also comes with several interface improvements, such multiple skins for better appearance.
In the latest version, the scan results now appear arranged by groups in a tree, and a sliding panel provides you with information about a selected item to help you decide whether to kill it or not. In Spybot Search and Destroy, “Immunize” blocks a plethora of web-based adware.
Another nice feature that comes with Spybot S&D is the Secure Shredder which is a tool to completely destroying files. Using the Hosts file, it is possible to block adware websites from being accessed. You can also block unwanted applications from loading when Windows starts by using System Start.
On the minus side, Spybot Search and Destroy sometimes hangs at times and during the installation process some errors may be encountered. However, Spybot is a good choice for a spyware removal tool.
